“For ages 4 to 6, Color&Draw for Kids ($0.99, Tipitap Apps) does a noble job trying to replicate the traditional coloring book. There is no fill option — that would be cheating — and you can start with a blank page, or pick one of 50 line drawings. Parental options let you make the job easier, by letting a child color over the lines, for example.”

A Little About Tipitap

Tipitap publishes bestselling iPhone, iPad, Android and Google Chrome apps for young learners. We strive to unleash the potential of the multiple technologies that converge on these platforms with touch screens, rich media, interconnectivity and much more, to educate and entertain children—from babies and toddlers to pre-kindergarten and all the way up to 1st grade. Our products weave together fun with fundamental educational concepts into effective learning experiences.

Technological devices hold a strong deep-rooted attraction and fascination over children. They naturally gravitate towards smart-phones, tablets and computers focusing their curiosity while controlling the processes of discovery and learning. A child's curiosity for learning knows no bounds.

Tipitap helps children develop their cognitive, social and motor abilities. Young children feel a sense of emotional satisfaction when they are engaged in learning experiences with our products. Friedrich Froebel, the father of kindergarten, recognized that this satisfaction comes from the control children have over the tools they use and the autonomy they have in the decisions they make. Deciding what to do with a Tipitap app is important to the development of the whole child and may be the first opportunity children have to make independent choices and decisions.

At Tipitap, we make available a wide range of interactive apps that explore the world of nature, music, art, math, reading, foreign languages and more by combining images, music text, sound, touch (or mouse clicks) in a seamless experience of fun and learning.

Our apps are designed from the ground up with the following principles in mind:

Learning: We endeavor to include carefully crafted, curated learning opportunities within all our apps. Every single one of our apps seeks to educate and expand the world of our young audience.

Age appropriate: Tipitap apps are built specifically to perform for one of three age groups. Our Toddler series provides simple, fun and enriching experiences for the youngest kids. Our Pre-K and K3+ apps allow gradual learning of skills and basic literacies.

Design and simplicity: Sometimes less is more. With small children, simplicity and selection are essential. Young children are easily confused and overwhelmed by too many choices. We carefully curate and design our apps to target precise age groups. And we we make the most of the technology to gradually (and automatically) introduce them to new content.

Autonomy: We seek to stimulate the early learner’s autonomy. We enable them to explore and act by themselves. The magic of touch technology in small devices like the iPod/iPhone and Android phones allows young children to handle the devices themselves and to master their use very early on.

Connecting with the world: At Tipitap we believe technology is a means to an end. We strive to build apps that help children explore and learn about their social and world. Whenever possible we provide ways for our early learners to share their progress and communicate with their loved ones.

Old forms, new forms: We explore the potential of traditional educational forms and transform them into new media digital creations without turning them into video games, sequential concept presentations or mindless tapping activities. Nothing is more rewarding and stimulating than learning something new in a new way. Like Einstein said, “You must learn to see the world anew.”

Beyond TV: Tipitap apps avoid becoming an extension of the world of TV. We know kids spend too much time already watching TV, so we have avoided branded products and characters in our apps, seeking instead to create our own original and quality art from the best illustrators.

Our qualifications: Although we are parents of young children too, with our fare share of parenting  experience—with joys and excitement as well as worry and anxiety—we are professionals with formal academic training. We understand the artistic, academic and technological aspects of this adventure.

Our award-winning products and our track record demonstrate our core competency every day to seasoned industry professionals as well as parents who witness our performance and results.

Tipitap believes that technology is an enabler—a springboard—for a larger world that demands new skills. Our objective is to create apps that are fun and not just mechanical drills and verbatim facts.

We overflow with pride as we see children gain autonomy, practice and acquire new skills, learn to read, write, add, draw, dance and sing.

We can’t wait to see what Tipitap kids will learn next.

Introducing Beary Happi The next generation teddy bear that comes to life this holiday season!

HappiTaps.com

Watch Beary in action!

The 21st Century Teddy!

The creative minds at Infantino® and Tipitap® bridge the world of iPhone® apps and toys to create HappiTaps™ — a first-of-its-kind, interactive, lovable 21st century teddy-bear available on Cyber Monday, just in time for the holidays.

Infantino, the baby brand known for its award-winning toys, baby carriers and infant products, and Tipitap®, an award-winning publisher of educational apps, have joined together to design Beary Happi, the first of many HappiTaps™.

The magic starts when you place your iPhone® or iPod touch® in a HappiTaps™ plush and huggable cover, available for purchase, and start the HappiTaps™ free app, available for download from the App Store. Watch as Beary becomes your child’s new best friend.

HappiTaps™ are a new category-changing product that leverages toddlers’ newly found fascination with iPhones and the classic comfort of plush, huggable toys to create a toy/app hybrid, a truly interactive and lovable companion.

Beary Happi is beautifully rendered in 3D computer animation, which together with the use of audio, video, motion sensors and gyroscopes (all of which make up the iPhone/iPod touch’s cutting-edge technology), create a truly interactive toy. Kids will watch him come to life in a manner never before experienced in a plush toy.

“At Infantino we pride ourselves on making innovative and smartly-designed products for happy parenting,” says Colette Cosky, senior brand manager at Infantino®. “HappiTaps is a beautiful way to make technology softer, make kids feel special and give parents real value in a toy that will provide never-ending entertainment.”

Children will love nurturing Beary Happi, feeding him, helping him go to sleep, as well as listening to him chat, share fun facts, play ‘Peek-a-boo,’ tell jokes, stories and sing songs. The app features over 150 different expressions to keep kids engaged and learning and since the toy’s life force is an app, new features will be added periodically through updates to create new fun and learning experiences for the child.

According to Emarketer, 20 percent of moms who own a smartphone use their device to download educational apps for their kids. Knowing that moms seek apps that educate and entertain their kids, HappiTaps™ was designed to cater to be both fun and educational, plus keep the realities of modern family life in mind. The HappiTaps™ cover features a child lock for the phone’s home button that ensures kids stay within the app, while adults can still answer their phone.

“With Beary Happi, we go beyond the typical kids’ app or video game to create an animated toy that becomes a child’s friend, teacher and companion,” says Martin de Santos, co-Founder of Tipitap.

Available November 28, HappiTaps can be purchased and found at select retailers by visiting http://www.happitaps.com for the iPhone/iPod touch cover (MSRP $19.99), while the Beary Happi app can be downloaded for free on iTunes.

Making an iPhone Even More Child-Friendly

By WARREN BUCKLEITNER

HappiTaps (shown, $20; infantino.com) is by far the most innovative approach. It turns your iPhone or iPod Touch into a cheerful bear’s face. Slip it inside this plush holder; download a free app called Beary Happi and presto, you have a square-headed rattle that you can clip to your belt or stroller. It now talks, tells silly jokes, and knows when it is being swung around. The app is well designed, with hidden controls that let you customize the bear’s personality. Additional stories, songs and features are sold as an in-app purchase.

Color&Draw is NOT for Adults ONLY! The Color&Draw for iPad website says it's an app for kids, but I'm here to tell you that it's for adults, too! I took my iPad to lunch, today, to celebrate Easter with family and friends. After it made the rounds and garnered LOTS of attention from the wait staff...

Color&Draw is essentially multiple apps in one Playing with an iPhone can be a whole lot of fun, but it’s all more gratifying when you can keep your young children entertained with it while you focus on other things. Apps such as Color & Draw keep your kids entertained and let them have fun drawing on your pictures and decorate them.
